Leaks and discussion about Nintendo Switch 2 hardware performance from industry insiders Tom Warren and others

Recently, tech journalist Tom Warren wrote an article discussing the online speculation about the capabilities of Switch 2 (now deleted). Some believe that the Switch 2 will have incredibly powerful performance, possibly even surpassing the PS4 Pro. In response, Warren dismissed these claims as complete nonsense.

Viewpoint from Tom Warren

He said, "There are tons of rumors about Switch 2, but one of the most ridiculous ones is that it's as powerful as the PS4 Pro."

Currently, the industry is speculating that the Switch 2 will feature Nvidia's Tegra 239 chip. According to a November 2023 analysis by Digital Foundry, the Switch 2's performance is expected to be roughly on par with or exceed that of the PS4. In terms of desktop graphics cards, it could be comparable to the RTX 2050.

Additionally, AMD insider Kepler posted on X that he believes the Tegra T239's performance will fall short of the Xbox Series S. However, the rumored ray reconstruction technology might give the Switch 2 better ray-tracing performance than the Series S.
