Rumors Emerge About Pokémon Gen 10, Potential Good News for Sun/Moon Fans

Pokemon Gen 10
Recent rumors surrounding the tenth generation of Pokémon games have sparked heated discussions, and fans of Pokémon Sun/Moon might have reason to celebrate. While Game Freak, The Pokémon Company, and Nintendo have yet to officially announce a mainline sequel following Pokémon Legends Z-A, numerous leaks about the new games have surfaced online. The latest rumors reveal several eye-catching details.
According to the most recent leaks, the tenth generation of Pokémon will launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 platform, featuring a map structure similar to Sun/Moon with 12 islands. Each island is guarded by 8 powerful "Sacred Pokémon." The 12-island setup also suggests the game will include extensive aquatic terrain.
The rumors further claim that the two Legendary Pokémon on the game’s cover will follow a "dual knights" theme. Additionally, the fan-favorite Ride Pokémon system will return, and the game is said to feature significant improvements in Pokémon-catching mechanics and visual presentation.
The most striking detail is the alleged removal of Pokémon Gyms, a rare departure for the series. Only Legends Arceus and Sun/Moon have experimented with similar changes in the past. The absence of Gyms sparked significant controversy when Sun/Moon was released, and if the tenth generation adopts this approach, it will likely fuel further debate. However, it’s worth noting that these rumors originated on 4chan, so their credibility remains unverified.

As of now, Game Freak, The Pokémon Company, and Nintendo have not responded to the leaks. Given various factors, an official response in the near future seems unlikely. Should more information surface, we will provide updates promptly.
